Volunteer for £100 / $155 per month inclusive of food and accommodation along the Thai Burmese Border

£100 / $155 PER MONTH

The number of internally displaced people in Burma is startling. Hundreds of thousands of
the country’s population have been forced to
flee from their homes or to relocate due to
constant conflict between ethnic groups and
the army. In January 2007 there were over
150,000 refugees in camps on the border in
Thailand.

Greedy entrepreneurs have been quick to
exploit these illegal immigrants from Burma. They are given the country's dirtiest jobs and live under
appalling conditions.

For a nominal donation join our program to bring much needed education and support along the Thai Burmese border.

Aid BurmESE Refugees

The Burmese military junta, illegally in power since 1962, spends a significant proportion of the country’s wealth to maintain its enormous army. A recent UN statement summed up Burma’s plight -

“Today. [Burma]’s estimated per capita GDP is less than half that of Cambodia or Bangladesh. The average household is forced to spend almost three quarters of its budget on food.”

In our effort to reduce the cost of volunteering and bring positive change we will soon be offering inexpensive (£100 / $155 per month fully inc of food and board) long term English Teaching positions (min 2 months) to assist Burmese organizations and schools along the Thai - Burmese border areas.

Volunteers will need to be proficient in English and possess enthusiasm and adaptability in a progressive school environment.
